Brief Description

The Memphis Sports and Events Center (MSEC) is looking for an energetic and skilled Ninja & Obstacle Course Coach to lead and inspire young athletes in our Ninja 901 program. This individual will teach ninja-style obstacle training, parkour, and foundational gymnastics movements while ensuring a fun, safe, and engaging environment for participants.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instruct and demonstrate techniques for obstacle course training, including climbing, vaulting, swinging, and agility drills.
  • Confidently navigate and demonstrate obstacles, including the warped ramp and Clip ‘n Climb elevated course (must be comfortable with heights).
  • Create structured lesson plans that promote skill progression while maintaining a fun and positive atmosphere.
  • Provide encouragement, motivation, and constructive feedback to help students develop confidence and resilience.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.

Requirements

  • Background in parkour, gymnastics, ninja training, or related athletic disciplines.
  • Comfortable demonstrating skills on elevated obstacles and ramps.
  • Outgoing, patient, dependable, and able to work with children of varying skill levels.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Prior coaching or teaching experience is preferred but not required.

  • Summary

    The award-winning Memphis Sports and Events Center (MSEC) is a state-of-the-art facility designed for both sports tourism and local programming. The venue features 16 basketball courts reconfigurable to 32 volleyball courts and is adaptable to a wide range of other sports and events along with a courtside café, VIP suites, spectator seating for thousands and more.

    The Ninja & Obstacle Course Coach reports to the Youth Programs Manager and will assist in the day-to-day operation of the Ninja 901 Adventure Course.

    The facility is operated by Virginia-based Eastern Sports Management (ESM) and sits within Liberty Park, a mixed-use development of entertainment venues, dining, retail, and hotels.
