Job Summary
Director of Group Sales is responsible for delivering a strategic sales vision, and leadership for the World Equestrian Center. Responsibilities include developing, facilitating and overseeing the sales team, managing existing client relationships while generating new business, and providing expertise on competitive set surrounding sales related activities, tradeshows, and events. This position will also be responsible for hiring, training, leading, motivating and maximizing the performance of the sales team.

Primary Responsibilities
- Profit Management
- Meets or exceeds budgeted REVPAR, ADR & Occupancy levels for the hotel.
- Prepares and manages Center’s Annual Marketing plan.
- Prepares departmental budget that correctly reflects the Center’s business plan.
- Forecasts occupancy fluctuations and directs selling activities to maximize revenues.
- Knowledgeable in the Center’s demand segments, sources of business for each, and balances market segments according to supply and demand.
- Knows the competitive landscape for each market segment.
- Accurately forecasts changes based on changing market conditions and trends (additions to supply, etc.).
- Develops the Center’s Sales plan based on the properties position and strengths within each market segment.
- Responsible for appropriate identification of key markets and supporting and deployment of strategies.
- Stays current on industry trends and communicates to appropriate individuals anything that could impact the property directly or indirectly.
- Identifies and maintains constant communications with the Center’s key accounts.
- Creates and presents promotional rates, packages, and programs with recommendations on deployment and marketing of these packages.
- Participate in the Center’s Executive Committee, which is responsible for strategic planning and leading the Center’s team collectively.
- Helps to develop management talent by acting as a mentor for direct reports and actively participates in training of the sales team.
- Adherence to all safety rules and regulations.
- Knowledge and compliance of all Center’s policies and procedures described as communicated by management.
- Expert in resort services, amenities, outlets, and all aspects of the business model.
- Maintain confidentiality to always protect the Center and its assets.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area.
- Available for work assignments outside of associate’s customary work schedule. This may include evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays as needed.

- Associates may have to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Associates are often required to sit and use his or her hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- Associate must talk and hear.
- Minimum of 10 years of sales management experience with 7 years minimum as a department head, required in a hotel and convention setting.
- Previous experience opening a hotel preferred.
- Must be detail oriented, have ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with team members and guests.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer skills include typing, use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, and Microsoft Publisher.
- Proficient in Delphi
- Ability to effectively interact in a professional manner with management team, guests, and owners.
- Excellent organizational, time management, computer skills and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to travel to conferences and site visits with clients as needed.
