Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare internal financial reports and assist in the preparation of external reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with HR on payroll entries, accruals, and reporting.
- Support audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices within the accounting function.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff and support ongoing team development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
- Background in construction, manufacturing, or distribution industries preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks or ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of accrual-based accounting and GAAP compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
