Accounting Manager

Location: Greater Sacramento Area

Salary: $90,000- $100,000

About The Company

We are a growing and well-established company in the construction industry, seeking an experienced and detail-driven Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, responsible for overseeing financial reporting, managing daily accounting functions, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

We’re looking for a proactive and organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of core accounting processes while supporting the broader financial strategy of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare internal financial reports and assist in the preparation of external reporting.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with HR on payroll entries, accruals, and reporting.
Support audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
Identify process improvements and implement best practices within the accounting function.
Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff and support ongoing team development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
Background in construction, manufacturing, or distribution industries preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks or ERP systems.
Solid understanding of accrual-based accounting and GAAP compliance.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
