We are seeking a Clinical Intake/Triage Nurse to join our rapidly growing team.

The Ria program is delivered through telehealth and partners with physicians and nurse practitioners to provide clinical expertise and manage care and outcomes for Ria Health members.

WORK AT RIA HEALTH AS A Patient Financial Counselor Ria Health is seeking a Patient Financial Counselor.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES And ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtain authorizations for UHC members, as well as any future payers who require an authorization.
  • Basic knowledge on how to submit prior authorization requests to insurance carriers.
  • Obtains and tracks authorizations as required by payers.
  • Responsible for all patient communication (Both via the phone or application) that is related to billing issues.
  • Responsible for patient Accounts Receivable.
  • Assess patient balances to ensure accurate billing and provide follow-up on patient balances.
  • Responsible for the upcoming appointment list to see if patients have an open balance.
  • Responsible for the inactive COF report.
  • Responsible for all assigned worklists related to patient issues.
  • Responsible for the Self Pay Collection Worklist.
  • Responsible for the Billing Worklist. (customer service)
  • Responsible for working the Correspondence Unpostable list for Patient Statement Review.
  • Responsible for patient refunds related to Commercial patients.
  • Responsible for patient insurance eligibility issues.
  • Basic knowledge of how to perform timely insurance benefit verifications to determine eligibility and cost-share amount for new and existing patients.
  • Understand payer contract and billing requirements.
  • Regularly review contract terms and conditions to confirm billing accuracy.
  • Responsible for creating patient payment plans when deemed appropriate.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism in all daily correspondence.
  • Proficient computer skills to navigate quickly through our practice software system.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Manager.
  • *Maintain HIPAA guidelines and high level of discretion due to the sensitivity of information.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • AthenNet experience required
  • 2+ years of experience in the medical billing field
  • Strong medical coding, ICD-10, CPT knowledge preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and billing processes/principles
  • Familiarity with medical policies and payer contracts preferred
  • Maintain integrity and tenacity while working accounts
  • Ability to identify, understand, and escalate potential issues
  • Ability to collaborate with key internal and external teams
  • Ability to solve problems and set priorities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be organized and self-motivated
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers
