As a Civil Engineer Intern you'll work on a variety of projects, all at different stages. Are you a Civil Engineer student looking to gain hands-on experience and make a real impact? Join our team as a Civil Engineering Intern and work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful water resources projects. As a Civil Engineer Intern you'll work on a variety of projects, all at different stages. Responsibilities
- Perform construction observation and site reports on water and municipal related civil projects.
- Work alongside professional surveyors and engineers to assist with field data collection for designs or perform construction staking.
- Assist Project Engineers in the design and construction of civil-engineering related projects such as general site grading, paving, storm water system improvements, and other improvements to public or private infrastructure.
- Assist Project Engineers with the development and preparation of construction plans, exhibits, specifications, and cost estimates related to infrastructure construction
- Assist in the preparation of technical documents and reports.
- Completion of at least one semester towards a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Ability to travel as required
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
- Completion of at least 4 semesters towards a bachelor degree in Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineering or related field
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
- Prior internship experience involving the design and/or construction of civil engineering related infrastructure
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
