At DSE, we believe in the power of design and storytelling to bring data to life. We’re dedicated to making our research and analysis accessible and empowering for all audiences. That’s why we’re on the lookout for a talented individual who shares our passion for user-centered design and is ready to explore the creative possibilities of data visualization and storytelling.
- Passion for User-Centered Design: You’re someone who understands the importance of listening to our audience and refining our work based on their needs and feedback.
- Technical Skills: You have experience in front-end development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for creating engaging user interfaces. Your keen eye for aesthetics and commitment to accessibility will be invaluable in creating visually stunning and inclusive data visualizations.
- Curiosity and Creativity: You have a fierce curiosity to critically examine how data is interpreted and a desire to push the boundaries of what data visualization can achieve. Above all, we’re looking for someone who brings creativity and a willingness to learn to the table.
- Collaborative Spirit: You’re able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization to discuss needs, design, and functionality. Your ability to create prototypes and mockups will be essential in bringing our data visualization projects to life during direct co-iteration / co-design with multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Advocate for the Environment: You care about protecting our planet, value work that impacts environmental health, and have a strong interest in learning about environmental issues and creatively thinking about solutions.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. When applying, be sure to showcase your work and include a few ways for us to see your creativity in action. Whether it’s portfolio samples, projects you’ve worked on, Processing sketches, interesting D3 experiments, or anything else that demonstrates your skills and passion for data visualization, we want to see it!
