Job Title: Motorsports Marketing Specialist

Department: Marketing

Reports To: Manager, Marketing

FLSA-Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Murrieta, CA

Summary

Under general supervision, the Motorsports Marketing Specialist is responsible for coordinating motorsports communication topics focused primarily on Supercross, Motocross and Amateur Motocross. As a member of the Marketing Communications team, this position will act as a liaison between the global motorsports marketing and the team in North America to ensure constant alignment across all communication platforms.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Leads the coordination of SX/MX and other premier racing communications plans, including but not limited to rider/team announcements, race coverage, PG&A product placement and race team sponsorship deliverables.
  • Works together with social team to integrate and execute motorsports content plan in-line with overall company strategy.
  • Manages the relationship with independently contracted photographers, videographers, and copywriters for all SX/MX and premier racing content creation, including Amateur Motocross.
  • Supports all motorsports team photoshoots by working with all stakeholders to develop marketing-specific shot lists.
  • Ensures that motorsports successes are being communicated to the Dealer Network by way of the Dealer Marketing team.
  • Attend key motorsports events throughout the year in alignment with overall business needs.
  • Provide support on all motorsports marketing topics, as needed.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Generally, requires a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in motorsports marketing, social media management, communications and/or project management. Other required experience includes:

  • Skilled in communicating and relationship building both internally and externally.
  • Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent presentation skills.
  • Must have strong knowledge of motorsports/powersports industry, specifically off-road.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Marketing experience required.

Other Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Experience in copywriting is preferred.
  • Must have experience with social media and digital marketing platforms and asset management.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and understand when to escalate potential issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy; must be team player.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Must be internal and external customer focused.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

Contacts

Internal: Marketing, race teams, internal creative agency.

External: Vendors, media, race team sponsors, athletes, contractors (photography, videography, copywriting) and race promoters.

JUDGEMENT/REASONING ABILITY: Ability to recognize discrepancies and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise, and diplomacy. Requires ability to use judgment and reasoning skills and determine when issues need to be escalated.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise in the work environment is usually moderate. Other factors are:

  • Ability to travel if needed. Travel is moderate in this position; 50% expected travel.
  • Hectic, fast-paced with multi-level distractions.
  • Professional, yet casual office work environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required.
