The Gig

The Fleet Manager is responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating and supervising the programs for our fleets, including over 800 vehicles. This includes acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles. The Fleet Manager also serves as the primary contact concerning the vehicle fleet and operations.

What You’ll Do…

  • Managing fleet inventory including purchasing vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet
  • Scheduling regular maintenance on all vehicles and maintaining maintenance records
  • Take the lead in understanding, communicating, and resolving any vehicle issues related to safety, hardware & software failure, or preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure quality and proactive responses to the needs of vehicles and staff
  • Respond to urgent or emergency situations in a timely manner and provide direction for repairs as needed
  • Managing vehicle licensure and registration
  • Ensuring all fleet members have proper licensure and up-to-date training
  • Providing reports to management on budgeting, maintenance and fleet progress
  • Assess methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency
  • May be required to respond after hours/weekends/holidays when necessary

  • Ability to lead by example and foster collaboration within the workplace and with the highest integrity, professionalism and respect
  • Must continually change, adapt and be flexible in all areas of responsibility
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Required Education And Experience….

  • Associate degree with a focus on business; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two (2) years or more of progressively responsible experience in fleet management
  • Maintenance, repair and overhaul understanding of fleet (preferred)
  • Strong organizational and good verbal communication skills
  • Maintenance, repair and overhaul understand of feet (preferred)
  • Certified Transportation Professional (preferred)
  • Cross-border regulatory compliance experience (preferred)
