This position is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining employee records, recruiting and onboarding new staff, and ensuring proper staffing levels for all departments, especially clinical care units. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

This position is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining employee records, recruiting and onboarding new staff, and ensuring proper staffing levels for all departments, especially clinical care units. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration:
- Process and submit payroll bi-weekly, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state wage laws.
- Maintain timekeeping system, reviewing daily punches and attendance reports.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Ensure compliance with wage, hour, and overtime regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and records.
- Assist with new hire onboarding, benefits enrollment, and personnel changes.
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and facility procedures.
- Support compliance audits, surveys, and HR reporting as needed.
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly staffing schedules for nursing and support departments.
- Fill open shifts promptly to ensure adequate coverage for resident care, including on-call responsibilities.
- Monitor attendance, track call-outs, and coordinate PRN, agency, and float pool staff as needed.
- Collaborate with department heads to forecast and fulfill staffing needs.
- Maintain staffing software and shift documentation logs per regulatory standards.
- Post job openings on hiring platforms and schedule interviews.
- Conduct reference checks, background screenings, and pre-employment processes.
- Coordinate new hire orientations and ensure completion of all onboarding documents.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of payroll, staffing, or HR experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal labor laws, healthcare staffing regulations, and payroll practices.
- Proficiency in payroll and scheduling systems (e.g., Paycom, Kronos, OnShift, SmartLinx).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Full-time, Monday-Friday (may include weekend/after-hours on-call for staffing needs).
- Skilled nursing facility environment.
- Must be able to respond quickly and calmly to staffing or HR-related emergencies.
