Lead Scheduling/Registration Specialist - Jewett Orthopedic Institute, Melbourne

Position Summary
One of the region’s largest orthopedic and sports medicine providers, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s world-class team of orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians specialize in conditions and injuries of the spine, hand, upper extremities, foot, ankle and lower extremities, as well as joint replacement, concussions, interventional pain management, bone health and orthopedic trauma. The institute’s Downtown Complex brings the whole spectrum of orthopedic and spine care under one roof and includes an orthopedic specialty hospital featuring 75 private inpatient rooms, 10 advanced OR suites, and a research and innovation center with a bio skills lab and 3D printer. Institute physicians also lead a robust clinical research and education program. An adjacent medical pavilion houses a 63-exam-room outpatient clinic, imaging suite, physical therapy spaces and ambulatory surgery center. The institute also holds official medical roles with multiple athletic teams, sporting events and venues. procedures

Responsibilities
ALL benefits start day one
- Responsible for maintenance of appropriate departmental schedules.
- Acts as a liaison with the Manager and Scheduling/Registration Specialists.
- Coordinates daily activities within the Scheduling/Registration department, to ensure and execute maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Provides feedback to manager for human resources functions such as hiring, coaching, and counseling.
- Efficiently and accurately gathers and inputs patient demographic information, insurance verification/authorization and schedules, reschedules and cancels multiple diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Accurately communicates prep information, arrival time and arrival location to patient.
- Inputs and distributes charge management process on a daily basis.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Education/Training:
High school graduate or equivalent. Medical terminology and/or basic anatomy training required.
Licensure/Certification
None.
Experience
Six (6) years’ experience in clinical registration or scheduling.
- Associate degree in business, information systems, clinical field or related field may be substituted for four years of experience.
- Bachelors degree in business, information systems, clinical field or related field may be substituted for six years of experience.
