Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Room (OR) / Perioperative Nurse to provide surgical patient care across all stages of surgery. The OR nurse will assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. In addition to providing direct care, the OR nurse also serves as a patient educator, circulating nurse, and/or scrub nurse.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care before, during, and after surgery.
• Act as a patient educator, explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns.
• Serve as a circulating nurse, working within the operating suite but outside of the sterile field.
• Function as a scrub nurse, handling and preparing surgical instruments and equipment within the sterile field.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to safety protocols during procedures.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 24 months of recent experience in an Acute Care Surgery setting.
• Ability to work within a team in high-pressure environments.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in fast-paced situations.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in operating room nursing with expertise in both circulating and scrub roles.
  
  

Licenses/Certifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  
  

Education

• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
  
  

Certification: Basic Life Support , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
