About the Job
The Assistant Controller will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. You will report to and work closely with Controller and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. The Assistant Controller possesses leadership capabilities, comprehensive knowledge of operational and technical accounting, and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity, and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Essential Functions
- Support the Controller in providing accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including but not limited to, monthly and quarterly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets.
- Participate in the ongoing development / establishment of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
- Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient, and accurate internal management and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Support annual budget process and preparation of annual tax forms.
- Liaise with vendors and external parties which may include but is not limited to banking partners, expense management partners, insurance broker partner, and audit / tax partner(s).
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Responsible for protection and confidentiality of all sensitive and confidential data.
- Act in accordance with Marco policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Bachelor’s degree and four years of accounting manager experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with business collaboration tools such as MS Office applications and Outlook.
- Superior internal and external customer service and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, dedicated to the challenge of helping other people.
- Demonstrates attention to detail.
- Strong ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters.
- Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time/task management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, work within a defined timeline, and operate with changing priorities.
- Function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, client-oriented team.
