The City of Pearland, TX, is seeking to hire a full-time Municipal Court Administrator!
Our Court Administrator earns a competitive salary of $87,130.29 to $110,000.00, based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance, plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. We also offer a retirement plan through the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a 2:1 employer match, life insurance, disability, access to the city's recreation fitness center, employee assistance program, educational assistance, 11 paid holidays and 2 designated paid holidays, paid vacation, sick leave, and an active wellness program focusing on physical, mental, and financial health.

General Description
The purpose of this job within the organization is to establish a clear vision for the department and to lead and direct staff, programs, and strategies to fulfill the goals and objectives of the City. This position is required to perform in an official capacity as the Court Administrator.
This job formulates long-range goals for the organization, develops policy and position papers, and negotiates with the chief administrative officer and/or elected officials

Essential Functions
- Oversee Municipal Court case flow, records management, jury management, manage budget and accounting functions, statistical analysis and projections, public relations, and personnel management.
- Directs, manages, and actively participates in the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
- Recruits, selects, trains, manages, motivates, and evaluates assigned personnel; works with employees to correct deficiencies, reviews work for quality, and administers discipline as necessary.
- Prepares and implements the court's budget, which includes the Municipal Court Operations Fund and Court Technology Fund. Manage revenue from the collection of fines and fees. Maintains and prepares accurate financial records, including state reporting requirements.
- Leads discussions, decision-making, and complex analysis.
- Identify, recommend, and implement business system changes required as a result of new legislative enactments.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field and 10 years of municipal administration experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level II of the Municipal Court Clerk Certification through the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center (TMCEC), at time of promotion/hire. Once certification is obtained, must maintain required certifications/licenses throughout time in position.
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Fingerprint for CJIS/TLETS
