We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Corporate Controller to support the financial operations of a multi-division organization consisting of six operating units.

Reporting Relationship

This role works across all INW sites and reports to the INW SVP of Finance and Accounting

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Location:

This position will be located in Ogden, UT. Travel requirements dependent on business needs, primarily domestic travel.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Corporate Controller to support the financial operations of a multi-division organization consisting of six operating units. This key role is responsible for overseeing critical areas of corporate accounting including intercompany reconciliations, employee benefit allocations, debt accounting and payments, prepaid assets, daily and long-term cash management, and financial reporting. The Assistant Controller will also coordinate audit efforts and contribute to the consolidation and analysis of monthly financial results.

Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Intercompany Reconciliations:
    • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations across six divisions.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of intercompany balances during monthly close.
  • Prepaid Assets:
    • Oversee accounting and amortization schedules for prepaid expenses.
    • Ensure proper classification and timely recognition of prepaid assets across divisions.
  • Employee Benefits Allocation:
    • Maintain accurate accounting for employee benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and fringe benefits.
    • Develop and implement allocation methodologies to fairly distribute costs to each division.
  • Debt Accounting & Payments:
    • Maintain schedules for corporate debt, including principal and interest payments, amortization, and covenant compliance.
    • Coordinate timely execution of debt service payments and related reporting.
Cash & Treasury Management

  • Daily Cash Reconciliations:
    • Manage and reconcile daily bank activity and ensure accurate cash position reporting.
    • Monitor liquidity across divisions and recommend cash movement or funding strategies.
  • Cash Management:
    • Collaborate with treasury or finance teams to forecast cash flows, optimize working capital, and manage short-term investments or borrowing needs.
Financial Close & Reporting

  • Month-End Close & Consolidation:
    • Lead and coordinate the monthly consolidation of divisional financial results.
    • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of consolidated financial statements.
  • Management Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial reports.
    • Provide variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership and division heads.
Audit & Compliance

  • Audit Coordination:
    • Serve as a key liaison for external auditors during annual financial and bank debt audits.
    • Prepare and review audit schedules and ensure timely response to audit inquiries.
Other Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and enhance internal controls.
  • Support the Corporate Controller and CFO with ad hoc financial analysis, system improvements, and policy development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or divisional environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, intercompany accounting, and financial consolidation.
  • Experience with cash and debt management, benefit cost allocations, and prepaid assets.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

  • Full-time position with hybrid or on-site work options depending on company policy.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits or audit coordination.
