Job Summary
The Purchasing Manager oversees all aspects of purchasing operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality within procurement processes. This role involves negotiating supplier pricing, establishing long-term supplier agreements, managing supply levels, and coordinating staff schedules to support purchasing functions. Additionally, the manager is responsible for maintaining quality standards within procurement activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational requirements.

Job Summary
The Purchasing Manager oversees all aspects of purchasing operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality within procurement processes. This role involves negotiating supplier pricing, establishing long-term supplier agreements, managing supply levels, and coordinating staff schedules to support purchasing functions. Additionally, the manager is responsible for maintaining quality standards within procurement activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational requirements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manages Purchasing team, ensuring critical supply stock levels are maintained, negotiating with high-volume suppliers, and providing feedback as needed.
- Oversees staffing within the Purchasing team to maintain appropriate levels.
- Ensures timely communication across multiple levels of the organization regarding purchasing and inventory issues, securing necessary approvals when required.
- Negotiates simple procurement contracts and secures optimal pricing.
- Proficient in ERP system transactions.
- Identifies and implements process improvements.
- Manages supply volumes for clinical kitting operations, biorepository and sample processing:
- Oversees current suppliers.
- Identifies and engages new suppliers as needed.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and 6S-compliant work environment.
- Orders office and safety supplies for the LabConnect business.
- Prepares and reports data on a weekly and/or monthly basis as needed.
- Performs additional duties and tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (preferred) with 5+ years relevant experience OR 7+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a regulated environment preferred.
- Prior knowledge or experience in procurement and services
- Experience in interacting with supplier websites to streamline procurement and foster strategic supplier relationships.
- Proficiency utilizing ERP systems.
- Experience with Microsoft NAV and Dynamics 365 Finance is a plus.
- Six Sigma certification is a plus
- In office Monday - Friday
- Location: Swalmen, Netherlands, Cologne, Germany or Johnson City, TN
