Job Summary
The HR Recruiting Specialist is responsible for developing and executing both short-term and long-term talent acquisition strategies to support the organization's workforce needs. This role manages the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, attracting, screening, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding qualified candidates. The Recruiting Specialist actively promotes employment opportunities through a variety of channels, including online platforms, professional networks, job fairs, career events, and community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, offer negotiation, and onboarding of new employees.
- Advertise open positions through various recruiting channels, including job boards, social media platforms, professional networks, industry associations, and the company careers page.
- Coordinate and facilitate all aspects of the internal hiring process to ensure an efficient and positive candidate experience.
- Review resumes, applications, and candidate qualifications to determine alignment with job requirements and organizational needs.
- Conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews to evaluate candidate qualifications, skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and ensure timely hiring decisions.
- Track, analyze, and report recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness, and candidate pipeline activity.
- Proactively identify and engage passive candidates through networking, talent databases, social media platforms, referrals, and professional organizations.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Prepare, extend, and coordinate employment offers while facilitating compensation discussions and offer acceptance processes.
- Process pre-employment and new hire documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
- Coordinate and support onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
- Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and ensure confidentiality of candidate and employee information.
- Represent the organization at job fairs, career events, community outreach programs, and networking opportunities.
- Promote and strengthen the employer brand by communicating the organization's mission, values, culture, and employment opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and equal employment opportunity requirements.
- Support employee retention initiatives by gathering feedback from candidates and new hires and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist the Director of Organizational Development with research projects, strategic initiatives, and other special assignments.
- Support the Chief Human Resources Officer with departmental functions including payroll, benefits administration, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and separation processes.
- Assist with the preparation, distribution, and maintenance of human resources correspondence, reports, presentations, and documentation.
- Assist with employee events, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and engagement activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee, applicant, and organizational information.
Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma or Associates Degree required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- 1+ year of recruiting experience required; HR Generalist experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
- Demonstrates the highest level of confidentiality and professional discretion, remains receptive to diverse perspectives, and shows openness to innovation and new approaches.
- Strong working experience with Microsoft Office suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
- Speaking clearly and effectively in positive or negative situations; demonstrating group presentation skills; effectively writing and editing written communications (letters, email, signs); reading and appropriately interpreting written information; presenting numeric data effectively.
- Prioritizing and planning work activities, using time efficiently, and developing realistic action plans.
- Identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner and gathering/analyzing information appropriately.
- Being consistently at work and on time, following instructions, responding to management instructions, and soliciting feedback to improve performance.
- Adapting to change in the work environment and managing competing tasks.
- Demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness and monitoring own work to ensure quality requirements are met.
