How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)

Oversee the development, design and production of repair, modification, process and inspection documentation in support of Delta's ATL Hangar and 24/7 operations maintenance activities as a liaison engineer. Evaluate and interpret AD, FAR, and Delta policy requirements to ensure compliance in the engineering documentation. Aid in analyzing and correcting problems which hamper the maintenance support activities. Understand airline operations and pace while providing solutions for a safe aircraft operation. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Liaise with OEM, Maintenance, Materials and other departments to ensure timely execution of aircraft repair and maintenance activities.

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Four-year accredited undergraduate engineering degree (Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical) required. On a case-by-case basis, consideration for experience can replace an engineering degree.
  • Requires working odd hours (evenings, midnights) and/or weekends (shift work) based on operational requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to provide support during the scheduled work hours and be on-time.
  • Selected candidates may be offered either the Engineer or Senior Engineer role based on experience.
  • Must have minimum of 1 -5-yrs of engineering experience.
  • Problem-solving background with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of maintenance and engineering.
  • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to perform and excel in a stressful environment with short deadlines.
  • Travel for AOG aircraft is required (shared events amongst the team); passport holder preferred
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong background in repair analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Possess the ability to create substantiation reports in support of aircraft airworthiness.
  • Should be able to comprehend and be knowledgeable in FAA regulations.
  • Should possess a thorough understanding of maintenance requirements, processes, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel) and AutoCAD (Solid Works or similar CAD software).
  • Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being.
  • Previous AOG support, operations support, certification, liaison engineering and/or MRB experience
  • Experience in the design and analysis of aircraft structural repairs.
  • Previous experience with OEM specifications and drawings.
  • Systems experience – troubleshooting, interpreting wire diagrams and isolating faults.
  • Knowledge in navigating and understanding OEM standard wiring practice manuals.
