Atmospheric Science Expert (AI Training)

About The Role

What if your deep knowledge of atmospheric science could directly shape how AI understands our planet's most complex systems — from climate modeling to ecological dynamics? We're looking for Atmospheric Science experts to develop advanced, rigorous problems that train the next generation of AI models to reason at a scientific level.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and domain specialists who want to apply their expertise in a high-impact, innovative way. No prior AI experience needed — just a strong scientific background and a passion for intellectual rigor.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design, solve, and review advanced atmospheric science problems with real-world scientific relevance
  • Apply your expertise in climate modeling, meteorology, ecology, or sustainability to craft complex, nuanced problem statements
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to sharpen AI model reasoning
  • Evaluate the quality, depth, and scientific accuracy of AI-generated outputs in your field
  • Ensure scientific rigor, clarity, and precision across all deliverables
  • Work independently on task-based assignments, fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Holder of a Master's or PhD in Atmospheric Science or a closely related field
  • Experienced with Python or R for research, data analysis, or modeling
  • Deeply knowledgeable in one or more of: climate modeling, meteorology, atmospheric dynamics, ecology, or sustainability science
  • Exceptionally clear and precise in written communication — you can translate complex science into well-structured problems
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and committed to producing high-quality scientific work
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
  • Familiarity with large-scale climate datasets or simulation frameworks
  • Background in academic research, peer review, or scientific publishing
  • Interest in the intersection of environmental science and artificial intelligence
