Pay Range: $86,260 – 138,906 annually (based on experience and location)

NFM’s Senior Network Security Engineer researches, analyzes and troubleshoots information systems compliance and security issues. Responsible for analyzing, compliance and technical control validation data to determine and report baseline variance for all applicable technology environments. Interfaces with internal and external audit staff to ensure appropriate and accurate responses to audit queries are satisfied in a timely fashion. Mentor and become a technical leader to the information security analyst. This position requires the candidate to reside in NE, IA, KS, MO, or TX. Final candidates will be required to come on-site prior to receiving an offer or on their first day of employment.

Job Duties: A Day in the Life
- Recognize: Identify and respond to malicious activity on critical network infrastructure, identify vulnerabilities and plan for remediation steps
- Manage: Monitor assets, network, and data to ensure the prevention of events that negatively impact confidentiality, availability, and integrity
- Secure: Maintain and publish Information Security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines based on best practices and compliance requirements
- Collaborate: Coordinate and execute complex IT security projects as well as working with other teams as a resource to implement remediations due to vulnerabilities
- Create: Evaluate intrusion prevention systems (IPS), web filtering and firewall policies, providing a point of contact for questions or issues company wide
- Lead: Provide expertise on security solutions, to support Firewalls, Content Engines, Intruder Detection or Prevention Systems, Security Architecture and Vulnerability Management
Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information security, or related degree or equivalent relevant work experience:
- 9 years of IT or NFM experience or have achieved a technical certification or developed a unique skill set
- 7 years of information security experience
- Involvement with Security projects, including defining requirements, developing project plans, and delivering results
- Experience with SIEM, IPS/IDS, and vulnerability scanning technologies
- Experience working with Microsoft Defender XDR, Entra ID Protection, Email Security, and Conditional Access Policies
- Information security certifications such as CISSP, Security +, OSCP, SCSP, GMON, GCIH, GCIA, MCSA, GPEN and MCSE are preferred
- Familiarity with recognized IT control frameworks and standards (e.g., CIS, NIST, ISO 2700x, etc.) and compliance (PCI, HIPAA) preferred
- Current relevant experience with investigative and analytical problem-solving skills required
- Experience working with Security Operations Center environments
- Technical knowledge in a wide array of platforms and systems (e.g., Windows, UNIX, SQL, Tandem)
