Brief Description

Due to growth Satterfield and Pontikes family of companies is adding a Recruiter to our Houston corporate team.

In this position you will be working with our hiring managers to source and recruit top talent from Commercial General Contractors. Typically positions include Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators.

This position is in office Monday-Friday.

Required Experience

Minimum three (3)+ years of experience with full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods for a Commercial General Contractor or agency focused on Commercial General Contractor clients.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in managing full-cycle recruiting for entry-level to mid-level roles under the guidance of senior recruiters.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand job requirements and recommend sourcing or screening approaches.
  • Source and engage with candidates using various job boards and passive search techniques.
  • Carry an above-average requisition load of 15+ at any given time
  • Create and implement sourcing strategies for recruiting for a variety of roles, including operations, administrative, etc.
  • Screen resumes, conduct initial phone interviews, and assess candidate qualifications and alignment with the role.
  • Ensure a high-quality candidate experience through timely updates, feedback coordination, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and requisition data in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Contribute to improving recruiting processes, templates, and tools for efficiency and consistency.
  • Assist with offer preparation, reference checks, and pre-employment processes as needed.
  • Support or participate in recruiting events, job fairs, or off-site hiring initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Activities And Requirements

  • May require lifting and carrying light loads, 10 or more pounds (e.g., boxes, small equipment, materials) and stooping or kneeling (e.g., filing documents in lower file drawers, picking up items from the floor, or removing and replacing items on lower shelving).
  • Strong manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, copiers, etc.)
  • Activities include extended periods of sitting, movement, and extensive work at a computer and phone.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and various sourcing platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting, sourcing, or talent acquisition coordination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
