The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Recruiting Specialist to support high-volume hiring operations across multiple locations. Reporting to the Senior HR Manager of Rail Recruiting Operations, this role is responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process—from candidate screening to interview coordination—ensuring timely and effective staffing solutions. As the first point of contact for many applicants, you will play a vital role in shaping the candidate experience and partnering closely with hiring managers to meet workforce needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Review applications and resumes to evaluate candidate suitability
- Conduct high-volume phone screenings to assess qualifications, experience, and interpersonal fit
- Serve as the first point of contact for potential candidates, answering inquiries and providing information about job opportunities
- Coordinate interviews, hiring events, and scheduling with hiring managers; follow up to support decision-making
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as candidate pipeline status and hires by location
- Maintain accurate recruitment documentation, trackers, and candidate files while safeguarding confidential information
- Support additional recruiting or HR-related projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of recruiting experience or a combination of education and relevant experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems (ATS)
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proven experience in a high-volume recruiting environment is preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn in a dynamic environment
