Production Support Engineer

Description

We’re seeking a skilled developer to join our team in a production support role, maintaining and enhancing our existing web application. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with user-reported issues, and making immediate impact on system reliability and user experience.

Requirements

Essential Functions

• Production Support: Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues reported by end users in our live production environment
• Issue Analysis: Use strong analytical skills to diagnose complex technical problems across our full-stack application
• Bug Fixes & Hotfixes: Implement timely solutions to critical production issues
• System Enhancements: Contribute to feature development and system improvements as time and priorities allow
• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of issues, solutions, and system knowledge
• User Communication: Work with support team to communicate technical solutions and timelines to end users

Required Skills/Abilities

• Frontend: Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript/ES6+
• Backend: Proficiency in .NET 8
• Database: Solid experience with MySQL, including query optimization and troubleshooting
• Debugging: Excellent debugging skills across the full technology stack
• Version Control: Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
  
  

Education And Experience

• 5+ years of experience in web application development and support
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proven track record in production support
• Experience investigating and resolving user-reported issues
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple issues effectively
• Knowledge of application monitoring and logging tools
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Understanding of web application security best practices
• Experience with (or willingness to learn) MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) and TypeScript
• Background in Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  
  

Working Conditions

• Work is generally performed within an indoor office environment utilizing standard office equipment.
• General office environment requiring frequent sitting; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse; walking and standing for long periods of time; and lifting of less than 20 pounds.
