Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) is a not-for-profit, community-owned water utility, overseen by elected officials and citizen appointees from Reno, Sparks and Washoe County. TMWA has a highly skilled workforce who ensure the around-the-clock treatment, delivery and availability of high-quality drinking water for more than 475,000 residents of the Truckee Meadows.

Essential Functions

SALARY SCHEDULE
All New Hires Will Receive Pay As Scheduled
START: $25.95
At 6 months: $28.03
At 1 year: $30.06
At 18 months: $32.65
HELPER Must have sufficient knowledge and adaptability to understand and carry on duties as assigned; must be semi-skilled laborer, or equivalent with past experience as such, capable of handling ordinary tools safely in accordance with Company safety rules. Assist skilled workman or apprentice or work under their direction at various classes of work, which may be assigned in any location.

Essential Functions
- Assist with hydrant maintenance, including inspections, flushing, and lubrication
- Help repair service and main lines using hand and power tools
- Perform general labor, digging, lifting, setting up safety zones
- Operate utility vehicles and equipment
- Keep job sites clean, safe, and compliant

- A valid Driver’s License - required.
- Education - High school diploma or GED - required.
Bonus Qualifications (preferred But Not Required)
Candidates with the following qualifications will be given additional consideration:
- Nevada Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
- State of Nevada Grade 1 or higher Water Distribution Operator Certification
- State of Nevada Grade 1 or higher Water Treatment Operator Certification
- ACT WorkKeys scores of 4 or higher in:
- Applied Mathematics
- Applied Technology
- Locating Information
- Reading for Information
