Description
What You’ll Do:
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on bakery production equipment, packaging machinery, HVAC systems, and facility infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
- Operate and maintain heavy and light equipment including forklifts, skid steers, dump trucks, snow plows, and compactors.
- Support seasonal and weather-related tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and stormwater control.
- Assist with construction, signage, and general building maintenance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain accurate logs using our CMMS system.
- Collaborate with production and facilities teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and minimal downtime.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and food safety protocols (GMP, HACCP, OSHA).
- Work with third-party vendors for specialized repairs or inspections.
- Clean and sanitize equipment as required, following SSOP guidelines.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, facility operations, or a related field.
- Experience with mechanical repair, HVAC, plumbing, welding, carpentry, or electrical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- CDL (Class A) with endorsements is a plus, especially for snow removal and heavy equipment operation.
- Boiler license or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance software.
- Ability to lift 50–80 lbs regularly and occasionally more.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions, at heights, or in confined spaces.
- Able to stand, bend, climb, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Must wear steel-toed shoes and safety glasses.
- Exposure to allergens (milk, eggs, wheat, soy, tree nuts, sesame).
- Work environment includes varying temperatures (50°F–95°F), loud machinery, and cleaning chemicals.
- May work indoors or outdoors depending on the task.
