POSITION SUMMARY:

Hudson Global Scholars (HGS) is a global online system of schools with students from over 26 countries. We offer accredited U.S. high school courses, college preparation, and dual diploma pathway programs through strategic partnerships with leading schools around the world. Our student community spans time zones, cultures, and languages—uniting thousands of learners through dynamic, global experiences.

As we scale our digital engagement and community efforts, we are building a next-generation student platform and community environment. We're looking for a passionate Student Community Manager to lead, grow, and energize our online student community. The Student Community Manager will lead strategy implementation, day-to-day operations, and growth of the Hudson Global Scholars student community on a dedicated community platform This individual will coordinate clubs, live events, student ambassador initiatives, and celebrations that span across cultures and time zones. The ideal candidate will be creative, tech-savvy, globally minded, and deeply committed to fostering a sense of belonging in digital learning spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage the student community experience using a dedicated community platform
  • Migrate and organize all student clubs, chats, and forums from legacy platforms (e.g., WhatsApp) to new systems
  • Design and implement onboarding experiences to help new students feel welcomed and engaged
  • Collaborate across departments and with global staff, teachers, students, school partners, and guests to coordinate community events and activities
  • Monitor platform analytics and engagement data to track growth and inform strategy
  • Develop an annual calendar of student community activities and events
  • Oversee and support all student-led clubs
  • Ensure each club regularly posts monthly themes, prompts, or events
  • Collaborate with student leaders to produce content, host events, and encourage participation
  • Recruit, train, and mentor HGS Ambassadors (~30 students)
  • Facilitate monthly group meetings and bimonthly 1:1 check-ins with Ambassadors
  • Empower Ambassadors to post content, moderate discussions, and lead sessions on the platform
  • Create incentives and leadership development opportunities for Ambassadors
  • Coordinate and promote recurring campaigns and themed weeks
  • Manage rollout of daily activities, point systems, raffles, and highlights
  • Host or moderate live Zoom sessions and award ceremonies
  • Post regular content and updates to the community platform
  • Collaborate with marketing to feature student blogs and success stories
  • Write and distribute monthly newsletters highlighting community activity and upcoming events

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in online student community management, digital engagement, or student affairs
  • Experience using community platforms such as Circle.so, Discord, or Mighty Networks
  • Excellent English communication and content writing skills
  • Experience managing virtual events and asynchronous engagement across time zones
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Culturally aware and globally minded
  • Background in education, youth programs, or edtech (preferred)
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and basic video editing (preferred)
  • Experience with CRM systems and analytics dashboards (preferred)
  • Understanding of global student dynamics, especially in high school or dual diploma programs (preferred)
