Chief of Staff to Founder at YC Startup

YC startup providing AI copilot solutions for engineers is looking for a Chief of Staff to partner with their solo Founder and leadership team to accelerate the company's growth trajectory. This is an exciting opportunity to join a nimble 30-person team with proven market traction and evolve with a growing company! In this role, you'll function as a true extension of the CEO by implementing frameworks that drive alignment, removing obstacles to execution, and building essential systems while navigating the dynamic challenges of an early-stage environment. Someone who demonstrates a track record of owning initiatives, creating effective processes, and thrives in dynamic startup environments. Experience at early-stage ventures (Seed to Series A) is highly desired. This is a hybrid role, 3 days/week in-office (Monday, Weds, & Fridays) based in Redwood City. 150-180K+ DOE + equity, benefits, 401k, unlimited PTO
Responsibilities:
- Provide leverage to the CEO to prioritize and execute top initiatives, including hiring, partnerships, and strategy.
- Manage board and investor updates, craft communications, and prepare for meetings.
- Optimize executive workflows to maximize high-impact activities and strategic thinking.
- Design and continuously improve the company's operating rhythm, including OKRs, standups, reviews, retrospectives, weekly leadership team meetings, All Hands, and manager meetings.
- Collaborate with department heads to eliminate roadblocks and maintain momentum on critical projects. Identify and resolve cross-functional friction points that slow progress and anticipate potential issues before they impact timelines or outcomes.
- Drive follow-through on OKRs, KPIs, and key initiatives. Maintain a data-driven, results-focused culture across the organization.
- Spearhead important projects from revenue optimization, organizational structure, and systems implementation.
- Lead internal training programs, professional development initiatives, and initiatives around team performance, happiness, and engagement.
- Own internal messaging strategy, including company updates, key memos, and alignment communications. Implement meeting best practices and operational efficiency improvements.
- Oversee strategic recruiting pipeline coordination with hiring managers.

- Support the executive team with research tasks and strategic analysis.
- Support the Founder and leadership team with special projects and research tasks .
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Chief of Staff, or similar strategic operations role in a fast-paced startup environment .
- Proven track record of driving cross-functional initiatives, operational improvements, and implementing systems.
- Highly responsive with an exceptional sense of urgency and follow-through.
- Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, handle ambiguity, and thrive in dynamic environments.
- Growth mindset with demonstrated ability to expand responsibilities and take ownership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with Slack, Notion, GSuite, Front, Trello, and other operational tools.
- Experience with OKR frameworks, performance management, and organizational development preferred.
