Position Overview

The Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide executive leadership during a period of transition, ensuring continuity of operations, alignment of strategy, and organizational stability. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Interim CEO will act as a trusted leader and decision-maker, guiding the team while positioning the company for long-term success.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure stable, transparent leadership throughout the executive transition.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversee daily operations to ensure organizational goals are achieved.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish priorities, evaluate opportunities, and maintain strategic alignment.
  • Support and align with the company's established strategic goals. Ensure adherence to processes, policies, and operational standards.
  • Lead and mentor the senior leadership team, fostering accountability, performance, and operational excellence.
  • Strengthen employee morale and retention through communication, visibility, and leadership presence while maintaining continuity in company culture and values.
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation to support fiscal sustainability.
  • Drive revenue and profitability while maintaining exceptional customer service.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, partners, and key external audiences.
  • Assess organizational needs and make recommendations for long-term growth, efficiency, and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Extensive leadership experience as a CEO, COO, or senior executive in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated success in strategy, financial management, and operational oversight.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire confidence across diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership experience in small to mid-sized service-based businesses.
  • Experience guiding companies through leadership transitions or change management.
  • Track record of enhancing employee engagement and retaining key team members.
  • Familiarity with the Bay Area region is a plus but not required.

Compensation

This interim CEO opportunity offers an hourly range of $135–$145/hr. You will also enjoy working within a supportive and collaborative culture that values teamwork!
