Position Summary

The EHS Coordinator will work closely with the EHS Manager and will be responsible for identifying and minimizing the risk of job-related accidents. The EHS Coordinator will monitor field operations to eliminate hazardous activities and should be well-versed in all OSHA requirements.

Requirements

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists EHS Manager with ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implements BLS/BLSE safety policies and procedures to minimize safety risks.
  • Advises, leads, and trains employees on various safety related topics.
  • Conducts new hire safety orientation training.
  • Conducts regular walk-through safety inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. (65% field work)
  • Assists Safety Manager with reports in relation to accidents and safety violations to determine cause and develop corrective actions.
  • Coordinates drug screenings (Pre-Employment, Random, Post Accident & Reasonable Suspicion)
  • Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with EHS Manager and dept. managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying hazards and implementing effective controls.
  • In-depth understanding of OSHA standards and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for delivering training and reporting findings.
  • Ability to investigate incidents, analyze data, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Skilled at assessing situations and developing practical solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Meticulous in conducting inspections and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety.
  • Flexible and responsive to changing regulations and work environments.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of projects and drives continuous improvement.
  • Proficient with MS Office and comfortable learning new software/tools.

Education, Experience, Certifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher level.
  • 1-3 years’ experience and/or related education specializing in industrial construction safety.
  • Valid Driver's license and clear driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of Industrial Safety work rules and Federal OSHA regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
