The Role
Are you a skilled Open Pit Drill and Blast Engineer with a focus on safety and optimisation? We're looking for a key team member to plan, design, and oversee the execution of all drilling and blasting activities within our open-pit mining operations. This position is essential in ensuring our mining practices are safe, efficient, and optimised for cost and performance.

The Role
Are you a skilled Open Pit Drill and Blast Engineer with a focus on safety and optimisation? We're looking for a key team member to plan, design, and oversee the execution of all drilling and blasting activities within our open-pit mining operations. This position is essential in ensuring our mining practices are safe, efficient, and optimised for cost and performance.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Developing detailed blast designs and drilling patterns using geological and geotechnical data.
- Coordinating and supervising all drilling and blasting activities to align with operational plans and strict safety protocols.
- Analysing blast performance and using modelling software to recommend improvements for fragmentation and cost efficiency.
- A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a Mining or Quarrying role.
- A strong understanding of blast design principles and explosives handling.
- Experience with blast modelling software and analytical tools.
- A firm commitment to safety and environmental best practices.
- The desire to collaborate effectively with mine planning, geotechnical, and operational teams.

- Salary range - $120,000 - $130,000
