Job Summary:

GE Aerospace is a leader in advancing aerospace technology and is seeking an Engineer - Mechanical Component to join their collaborative team. In this role, you will solve engineering problems, manage complex issues, and contribute to the redesign of rotating parts while ensuring safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.


Responsibilities:

• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products

• Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions.

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a small team to achieve set goals and objectives. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

• Organize and execute daily management to conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and align on priorities.

• Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Serve as the primary point of contact between the team and senior leadership. Prepare and present regular updates, reports, and performance metrics to senior management. Ensure clear and transparent communication of project status, risks, and opportunities.

• Will lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements, using Flight Deck (GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model). Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

• Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

• In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

• Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

• A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.


Qualifications:


Required:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

• This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, for applicants who are not asylees, refugees, lawful permanent residents or U.S. Citizens (i.e., not a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), otherwise known as a U.S. Person), final offers will be contingent on the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
