Job Summary:
ARAG Legal Insurance is seeking a Data Analyst who is service-minded and detail-oriented with a passion for data analysis. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to manage reporting and analysis requests that support business decisions while ensuring data quality and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
• Manages and completes routine data and reporting requests from internal stakeholders across the company, both promptly and accurately.
• Works collaboratively with others to identify and understand the business problem, question(s) and/or data need.
• Documents project work, queries, and correspondence to facilitate and streamline related work requests going forward.
• Works with internal stakeholders to understand various data sources and ensure quality and accuracy of the data and alignment with project needs.
• Performs data validation and cleansing.
• Identifies and recommends process improvement opportunities in areas such as data collection and validation and automation.
• Works with stakeholders to define data requirements and builds, edits, and updates reports and dashboards.
• Collaborates with business stakeholders to understand the meaning of data fields, document data rules, and write business definitions.
• Uses knowledge of data and business processes to make recommendations to stakeholders.
• Actively seeks opportunities to learn new knowledge and skills.
• Actively contributes to evaluation of possible solutions to problems.
• Serves as a positive role model by representing the ARAG At Its Best Values.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:

• Passion for data analysis and a desire to learn and grow in the field
• Ability to manage and complete routine data and reporting requests from internal stakeholders promptly and accurately
• Ability to work collaboratively with others to identify and understand the business problem, question(s) and/or data need
• Ability to document project work, queries, and correspondence to facilitate and streamline related work requests
• Ability to work with internal stakeholders to understand various data sources and ensure quality and accuracy of the data and alignment with project needs
• Ability to perform data validation and cleansing

• Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to understand the meaning of data fields, document data rules, and write business definitions

• Knowledge of data querying capabilities
• Knowledge of data structures and relationships
• Understanding of processes to ensure data quality and accuracy
• Experience with data cleansing and validation
• Able to take ownership and independently manage requests from initiation through execution to completion
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate analysis to diverse audiences
• Ability to clearly communicate data definitions, rules, and parameters in business-friendly language
• Detail-oriented and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook)
• Four-year college degree in business, marketing, statistics, business analytics or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience
Preferred:
• Knowledge of and experience with business intelligence reporting and data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
• Understanding of data governance and best practices for data quality and stewardship
• Basic conceptual knowledge of predictive analytics and machine learning
• Experience with SQL and performing data queries strongly preferred
