About the Job
The Human Resources Manager provides backup and support to all internal Human Resources (HR) departments - Hiring, Payroll, Benefits; and assists the EVP of HR as needed. This position displays extraordinary team skills with a willingness to serve as an intricate part of our HR team in any capacity. The Human Resources Manager leads, plans, directs, develops, and coordinates the policies, procedures, activities, and staff of the HR department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's vision, mission, values, and strategy.

- Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
- Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
- Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
- Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.
- Provide backup and support to EVP of HR and all internal HR departments (Hiring, Payroll and Benefits).
- Assist and collaborate with the EVP of HR in these specific areas:
- Perform and manage discipline and termination of employees in accordance with FCA policy.
- Assist with management of departmental budget and expenses.
- Manage FCA's performance policies.
- Assist with employee relations matters.
- Administer and oversee human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; recognition; morale; and occupational health and safety.
- Assist with editing and managing all HR corporate policies, procedures, and correspondence; ensuring the most current and accurate policies are posted for all FCA staff.
- Responsible for taking and managing HR meeting minutes.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS).
- Identify talent acquisition needs to develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management at the Support Center and executive leadership, including lead talent acquisition efforts on various recruiting platforms/job boards.
- Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to EVP of HR.
- Manage compensation functionalities and the monthly funding of 401k and HSA employee/employer contributions.
- Conduct monthly payroll and benefits audits.
- Collaborate with HRIS/HR Executive Assistant as needed.
- Assist Benefits Manager with the management of STD/LTD administration, and other Benefits related functions, including PTO eligibility, Jeffrey Lane Scholarship, and staff recognition processes, including service awards and retirement gifts; assist with all aspects of the employee awards program and gifts including but not limited to Terry Berry anniversary gifts, retirement gifts, tenure gifts, and baby blanket distribution.
- Manage employee relations tools including but not limited to FCA performance improvement an coaching plans.
- Oversee Exit Interviews and provide advice and recommendations to leadership based upon input received.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Professionalism: Proper use of English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary necessary to perform duties required.
- Excellent statistical analysis skills required.
- Ability to type accurately from a clear copy of at least 50 words per minute.
- Ability to operate telephone using proper telephone etiquette.
- Zoom proficient.
- Self-starter with excellent planning and organization skills including files (both digital and physical).
- Proficient knowledge of modern-day technology including but not limited to internet, Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to a wide variety of people.
- Must have basic problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to initiate tasks and projects with minimal general instruction; stay on task; self-manage/prioritize workloads and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
- Must be able to function well as part of an established team.
- Must be highly organized and have strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of accounting/payroll principles; federal and state legalities.
- Ability to promote teamwork and cooperation within the HR department, Support Center, and field staff.
- Knowledge of and passion for sports and ministry.
- Mature Christian.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification with 5 years' experience preferred or 10 years' experience without SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
- Ministry experience preferred.
