ADAS Development Engineer I

The ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist Systems) Development Engineer I will facilitate vehicle and feature test readiness including control software, hardware modules, and data acquisition. The role will engage with attribute and feature engineers to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with software updates, module function, and feature execution. The ADAS Development Engineer I will support lab operational efficiency, adherence to processes, perform ADAS validation tests, and deliver timely and efficient solutions. The role will support development of test method efficiencies, documentation, and deployment of training. The ADAS Development Engineer I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. This position is located in Dearborn, MI.

As An ADAS Development Engineer, You Will
- Monitor and ensure test readiness of prototype vehicles
- Identify needed software updates and perform flashing
- Diagnose and resolve issues found with ADAS feature functionality
- Setup and change vehicle module configurations for test purposes
- Perform pre-test check of data logging tools
- Interface with other ADAS engineering teams to achieve vehicle test readiness
- Engage with attribute and feature engineers to resolve functional issues on test
- Develop hardware and software-based testing efficiency methods
- Document processes and methods, deploy to team members, and provide training
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent
- No previous experience required
- Good communication and time management skills
- Basic understanding of Systems Engineering V Model
- Ability to develop and manage workplans, work independently, and within a team environment
- Ability to ensure timely completion of test plans involving multiple teams
- Ability to operate test vehicles and follow procedures
- Master of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in an ADAS test environment
- Strong knowledge of ADAS features, related control systems, and vehicle Controller Area Network (CAN bus) protocol
- Excellent skills with MATLAB, CANape, and CANalyzer
- Strong knowledge of Oxford Technical Solutions (OxTS) equipment and AB Dynamics Robotic platforms
- Ability to apply Systems Engineering V Model for vehicle and ADAS development
- Knowledge of product development process, cycle, and delivery
- Good ability to operate test vehicles in defined test protocols
