FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000 annually. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.

This position follows a 4/10 schedule, with four 10-hour shifts per week based on the assigned shift. Supervisors will be required to work rotating weekends to ensure operational coverage.

Summary

The Production Supervisor works with site leadership and the production team to establish, optimize and meet production goals. Goals are driven by the needs of our customers and are expected to fall within budget and scope in the production of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC), lithium polymer batteries and supporting products. This position directs and supervisors a team in collaboration with and direction from the Production Manager. This position is both tactical and strategic in nature.

Responsibilities

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

  • Determines labor needs & creates schedule based on production requirements, assigns work rotations taking into account vacations, holidays, overtime and any special assignment/project responsibilities
  • Is a first responder (Edge provides first responder training) and a lead member of Safety Committee
  • Provides feedback on performance both formally and informally, does so in a manner that is effective, professional, clear and inspirational when possible
  • In collaboration with HR creates, delivers and monitors performance/discipline documents (corrective actions, PIPs) and conversations.
  • Lead in employee disciplinary actions in conjunction with Management & HR.
  • Champions and participates in and supports initiatives such as succession and career planning
  • In partnership with leadership creates, prioritizes and sustains a workforce that is diverse and inclusive
  • Participates in the hiring and advancement of employees, complying with all applicable laws and regulations and working within best practices
  • Trains and enforces a healthy work culture including safety, environmental, teamwork, discipline, work processes and housekeeping
  • Maintaining and updating Training Matrix to new or updated work instruction, as well as communicate changes and training team accordingly.
  • Tracks production targets, supports engineering and other projects, and assures on-time delivery
  • Tracks and reports on throughput, efficiency, cost, and on-time delivery. developing and communicating improvement action plans
  • Collaborates within cross functional teams (i.e., engineering, safety and supply chain) and other stakeholders to evaluate, document and communicate new equipment procedures and requirements
  • Maintaining, utilizing & a variety of reports/communications to ensure organizational goals are met.
  • Determines, analyzes, recommends and provides tools, PPE, equipment, for job completion
  • Assures correct materials and supplies are available for production as required in alignment with production schedule, escalates & makes adjustments proactively to ensure schedule attainment.
  • Works with safety team on accident and incident investigations and applies corrective actions as required.
  • Conduct departmental meetings to communicate changes, updates to employees regarding business requirements, safety, policies, procedures and practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or 7+ years of direct experience leading others in a similar role & environment
  • 3+ years of experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • 3+ years working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • 3+ years successfully and formally leading a team in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience training others
  • Ability to lead others effectively and respectfully creating a positive, healthy workplace
  • Ability to have difficult conversations timely, effectively and respectfully.
  • Superior ability to lead others who possess a wide variety of communication styles providing a wide variety of tasks
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Communicate effectively & professionally in both verbal and written formats across the organization
  • Superior problem-solving skills

This position may require access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). Work Environment And Physical Requirements

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
