The City of Chesapeake is looking for an experienced and driven IT Project Manager to lead critical internal projects that directly impact how we serve our community. If you're passionate about innovation, strategy, and public service, this is your chance to make a real difference.

You'll be the bridge between departments and vendors—overseeing major IT initiatives, improving vital City systems, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable impact.

Location: Chesapeake, VA - Hybrid Remote

Must report onsite for the first 90 days. After that, hybrid work may be available, depending on business needs.

What you'll do:

• Lead complex IT projects from concept to completion

• Coordinate project schedules, budgets, communications, and teams

• Serve as primary liaison between the City and external vendors

• Track project progress in SharePoint and other tools

• Manage risks, documentation, training, and testing

• Provide executive-level updates and reports

What we’re looking for:

• PMP Certification

• 5+ years managing large-scale IT projects

• Experience with multi-million-dollar budgets

• Strong knowledge of SharePoint, risk management, and cross-functional leadership

• Public sector or PMO experience is a plus
