Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair heavy construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, and trucks.
- Document repairs and preventive maintenance in the fleet database.
- Purchase necessary parts and supplies to complete repairs.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to equipment operators.
- Maintain shop facilities and adhere to all safety regulations.
- Perform skilled mechanical repair work and complete overhauls on heavy equipment.
- Read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and air schematics.
- Travel to field project locations to provide on-site maintenance and technical support.
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules for vehicles and equipment.
- Identify and manage warranty issues, coordinating with manufacturers and the Equipment Manager.
- 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Class B CDL preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
- Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions in heavy equipment maintenance.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, standing, and reaching.
- Use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Work around vehicles, heavy machinery, and moving equipment.
- Exposure to diesel fuel, exhaust fumes, loud noise, and harsh weather conditions.
