The Position
The Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of company products to customers, the transfer of products between company plants, and the hauling of raw materials on company trucks. The dispatcher works closely with customer service personnel to ensure that customer requirements are met.

- Dispatches company trucks.
- Schedules the order of loading of all trucks in order to meet customer demands in the most cost-efficient method possible
- Receives and directs unloading of all inbound freight and raw materials. Checks receiving ticket for accuracy and submits to office on a timely basis.
- Directs truck traffic flow around plant.
- May supervise shipping and receiving forklift operators.
- Ensures that all outbound shipments are loaded with 100% accuracy.
- Ensures best LTL and FTL freight rates when using common carriers that align with negotiated rates..
- Assists office personnel with maintaining shipping tickets and bills of lading.
- Process all freight transactions in accounting system & Transportation Management System.
- Advises supervisor of any orders not scheduled for timely shipment
- Occasionally operates forklift to pull and load orders when necessary.
- Participates in monthly inventory process and advises of product inventory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience as a truck dispatcher in a similar industry.
- Exceptional ability to schedule drivers, plan routes, and dispatch drivers to customer locations.
- Extensive experience in customer services, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
- Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS).
- Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
