D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Payroll Assistant. The right candidate will be responsible for supporting the payroll function as well as performing a variety of administrative tasks within the Payroll Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Open and distribute mail
  • Monitor and respond promptly to the HR/PR inbox email
  • Customize and/or compose letters/emails on own initiative or in response to requests for information
  • Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature
  • Assist in processing garnishments
  • Aid in the direct deposit process
  • Organize, prepare check copies, and ensure correct addresses for manual payroll checks to be sent via FEDEX
  • Manage meetings for the department
  • Maintain payroll reports
  • Assist in compiling information for monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll reports
  • Perform general payroll filing
  • Prepare presentations and reports
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Assist in any duties assigned by the Payroll Manager
  • Collect necessary information for audits
  • Participates in special projects as directed
  • Ability to work overtime


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly dependable, focused, organized and detailed-oriented possessing excellent time management skills
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email


Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge in PeopleSoft, a plus


Schedule : Hybrid, 3 days in-office after a period of full time in-office training
