Automation Specialist

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Automation and Control Management Engineer and working in conjunction with Corp. IT resources, this individual will be accountable for designing, developing, installing, managing, and maintaining the instrumentation and controls systems within the coffee roasting, tea, and liquid production facilities as needed for projects and general purposes.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, maintain and deploy new Wonderware ArchestrA Galaxy and MES Templates, Objects, Scripts, & InTouch applications
• Design, develop, modify, maintain, and deploy new PLC and HMI applications
• Design, develop modify, maintain and deploy new thin clients and other hardware, including I/O networks as required working in conjunction with Corp. IT resources
• Design, develop, modify and maintain database tables, views, functions and stored procedures
• Design, develop, modify and maintain new information reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft Visual Studio
• Develop and maintain electrical drawings to ensure current and accurate documentation of the plant's electrical and controls systems
• Troubleshoot electrical and controls problems within new and existing systems as well as plant floor instrumentation
• Provide troubleshooting help and guidance to the plant's maintenance department as required
• Assist in the development of a technical training program for the maintenance department in the areas of process controls, electrical systems, and instrumentation
