The Sr. Fabrication Manager supervises a high-throughput department with a diverse team specializing in the custom fabrication, manufacturing, repairing, and finishing of wood and metal furniture and fixtures. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

What You'll Do
The Sr. Fabrication Manager supervises a high-throughput department with a diverse team specializing in the custom fabrication, manufacturing, repairing, and finishing of wood and metal furniture and fixtures. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
The Day-to-Day
- Oversees all fabrication (woodworking, upholstery, metal working, welding, painting) projects
- Organizes, monitors, and prioritizes tasks to meet production goals
- Manages a small team consisting of welders, painters, and carpenters
- Performs special projects and designs custom orders as needed to fulfill customer requests
- Develops and monitors budget and scheduling to ensure cost adherence and efficiency
- Expedites and manages multiple projects within scheduled deadlines
- Maintains the highest standards of production quality
- Supervises staff to produce manufactured products and organizes and monitors workflow
- Participates in regular department meetings to improve communication to the team
- Monitors inventory levels and initiates purchase orders for supplies and materials needed for production
- Enforces all state, federal and OSHA safety practices and procedures and ensures employees receive appropriate safety training
- Checks all work performed in shops for completeness
- Coordinates with all departments on special projects
- May be required to oversee installation of high touch jobs
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in fabrication
- Good knowledge of general math and trigonometry
- Experience supervising a small team
- Knowledge of methods, techniques and procedures involved in furniture repair and construction
- Strong knowledge of tools and equipment with hands-on mechanical ability
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with accuracy and speed
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to use a computer (Microsoft Office Suite) to read and write reports, respond to emails, etc.
- Ability to manage and direct a diverse staff
- Ability to work independently as well as in groups
- CAD skills and experience is a plus
- Warehouse experience is a big plus
