Summary

Fleet Service Advisor, under the general supervision of the Shop Foreman, evaluates vehicle service needs with departments and creates repair orders, coordinating completion with shops and parts while ensuring high customer interaction.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assesses customer service needs through consultations and vehicle/equipment inspections, incorporating technician diagnoses
  • Communicates with shop and parts warehouse personnel to track and report on work completion timelines
  • Keeps customers informed of service progress and any changes to expected delivery times, including follow-up on vehicle/equipment status
  • Educates customers on service maintenance requirements, promoting responsible vehicle and equipment care
  • Coordinates and schedules planned vehicle maintenance
  • Manages work orders in fleet management software (opening, monitoring, updating, and closing)
  • Prepares regular status and monthly billing reports for completed maintenance and repairs
  • Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate degree in Business Administration, Automotive technology or related field
  • Three (3) years of experience working vehicle service industry, customer service, or service writing


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in or with a governmental agency


Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid driver’s License
