Position Opportunity
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support the engineering and production teams during a summer internship term. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and provides opportunities to participate in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and production optimization projects.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate current manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the implementation of lean principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity assessments.
- Assist in troubleshooting production issues in collaboration with engineering and operations staff.
- Help develop and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Assist in designing and testing tools, jigs, or fixtures to support production.
- Collect and interpret production data to inform decisions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and kaizen events.
- Contribute to quality, safety, and cost-saving objectives.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of sophomore year or higher preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor settings.
- Requires occasional standing and walking in a production environment with use of PPE.
