The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for the scheduling of all surgical patients to assure the most efficient, productive delivery of quality care to patients. Responsible for coordinating the surgical patient experience prior to day of surgery including, but not limited to pre and post-operative care. Work in collaboration with physicians, nursing, insurance verification team, and other members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum two years experience with computerized healthcare applications preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to read and communicate effectively. Ability to function well independently and work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work effectively under stress and efficiently handle daily fluctuations in patient volume and with potentially frequent interruptions. Consistently pleasant and helpful with strong customer service skills. Must be well organized, pay attention to detail, and be flexible with regards work environment and hours. Demonstrated computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Products. Ability to work effectively and professionally with patients, co-workers, nurses, and physicians. Exhibits strong human relation skills to include the ability to work collaboratively and professionally within the MCHS-FH system.
