What is the job?

Are you ready to be fundamental in leading the modernization of how one of the biggest industries in the world connects its customers with the digital world?

If you are a user obsessed Design leader with an appetite for change, you could be a great fit for our brand-new position of Director of User Experience Design. You will be leading and growing a new cross-functional UX team that will take guardianship of all facets of our digital ecosystem; this includes the web, iOS, Android, kiosk, and point-of-sale channels.

You will report to our VP Digital Product & Design, Andrew Shearer and collaborate with various senior leaders within the company’s Digital & Operations space; ensuring every interaction, from browsing and checkout to post-purchase, is intuitive, seamless, and emotionally engaging.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be responsible for leading & growing the UX design team which includes making key hires, advocating for UX excellence whilst building a supportive and innovative culture where you team feel like they can express their UX craft and develop their careers.
  • You will define and drive the UX strategy across in theatre, web and mobile avenues by translating business opportunities and customer insights into compelling, high performing digital experiences that reflect a deep understanding of our consumers.
  • You will be vital in driving cross-functional collaboration by partnering with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing & Data teams to ensure your UX vision is fully integrated into product development and design direction is constantly refined to deliver the best product for our consumers.
  • You will build the fundamentals of design operations & execution for your team by establishing scalable workflows, usability testing, design system governance, accessibility standards, responsiveness and setting clear expectations to ensure the products stay on-brand.
  • You will set the standards for a data-informed approach for measuring and optimising UX performance which includes, defining metrics and business goals by leveraging A/B testing, customer insights and analytics.

About You

  • You will need a wealth of experience in software UX design for B2C companies, or other high traffic, consumer-driven business that have a diverse digital product offering, whilst having demonstratable people leadership experience.
  • You will need native mobile app design and able to show expertise in A/B testing tools & processes, whilst being able to direct UX research, integrating both qualitative and quantitative insights into your strategy.
  • You can demonstrate design craft and measurable business impact from previous roles via a portfolio of work that displays examples of UX design, information architecture, usability and visual design projects.
  • You are comfortable working in a cross-functional environment where you will need to communicate technical knowledge to several non-technical stakeholders at varying levels within the business.
  • You have a technical grounding which helps you understand front-end technologies and their impact on design systems whilst leading, scaling and contributing to design systems.
