Responsibilities
Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7- 17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility.

Position Scope
The Contract Specialist is responsible for preparing, reviewing negotiating and managing contracts to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and organizational standards. This role acts as a liaison between internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure agreements align with company goals and mitigate potential risks. This role is also responsible for ensuring that healthcare providers and facility is properly credentialed and compliant with all regulatory standards. This involves verifying professional licenses, certifications as well as maintaining up-to-date records for all providers and facility.

An individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job satisfactorily. May perform under demanding and changing circumstances with frequent interruptions. Must exercise good judgment, have extremely high business ethics, be flexible, and adaptable, polite and customer service oriented. Accuracy is mandatory in all aspects of position. Excellent oral, written and analytical skills are mandatory. Must be computer literate and be able to operate simple machinery necessary to perform duties such as a computer, copier, phone, calculator, etc.
Education And Experience
Minimum High School Diploma, two - four year degree preferred. Three or more year’s healthcare collections/follow-up experience with third party payers and contracting experience. A strong client service background is mandatory. Has a proven record in contracting management. Must be computer literate with above average skills in Word, Excel and Databases.

Essential Functions
- Completes new program contracts, vendor contracts, and amendments.
- Coordinate with legal, finance, and vendors to assist in resolving contract disputes or issues that arise.
- Maintains contracts and develops excel spreadsheets and hot sheets regarding contract specifics for each internal department.
- Process initial credentialing and re-credentialing application for providers and facility.
- Provides support/assistance to Business Office Director to enhance administrative effectiveness of operations, and to perform other duties as assigned.
