JOB TITLE: Logistic Coordinator

LOCATION: Farmington Hills, MI

Salary range: 60K-65K/year

Work style: Hybrid (2days office, 3days WFH)

Employment style: Temp(3months) to hire

Position Summary

This role carries day-to-day responsibility for a specific functional area or process, including oversight and supervision as needed. The individual will use their subject matter expertise to improve productivity, enhance workflows, and implement control enhancements. The role involves coordination with multiple departments, subsidiaries, and customers.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage logistics operations for automotive programs.
  • Supervise contracted warehouse operations for inbound/outbound shipments and handle special customer shipping requests.
  • Manage all EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) processes, including sending advance shipping notices.
  • Monitor demand changes and flag low inventory items daily.
  • Coordinate with production sites and align schedules with customer demand to ensure sufficient U.S. inventory.
  • Update company forecasts with customer planning data and forecasts.
  • Identify and report abnormal short/mid-term demand fluctuations.
  • Communicate and negotiate with customers regarding delivery adjustments.
  • Use customer service skills to coordinate logistics plans and routes per contractual shipping terms.
  • Be available for follow-up calls on an as-needed basis.

Physical Requirements

Primarily Sedentary Work Requiring

  • Reaching, sitting, walking, bending, grasping, repetitive hand motions
  • Strong hearing, visual acuity, and verbal communication ability
  • Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 35 lbs (approximately 16 kg) may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in logistics or customer service, especially within the automotive sector
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and active listening skills
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
