Job Overview

The manufacturing process study engineer is responsible for measuring, optimizing, and improving assembly process using lean manufacturing principles. This role focuses on waste reduction, efficiency improvement, and workspace optimization while ensuring compliance with HSE and quality standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance assembly steps, reduce costs, and improve overall process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly process measurement.

Perform time study of components’ assembly steps. Track individual components sequence and flow for overall assembly process. Create Standard work, Installation Work Package (IWP), and Pre-commissioning Work Package (PWP) documents. Improve assembly steps and overall cycle time.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with engineering, shop floor, and quality teams to align assembly process with operational goals. Facilitate Lean training and workshops for plant employees. Partner with suppliers and contractors to ensure equipment and layout modifications meet requirements.

  • Data Analysis & Performance Improvement:

Analyze shop data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Conduct motion analysis and workflow assessments. Recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights.

  • Compliance & Safety:

Ensure plant layouts comply with safety, ergonomic, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) teams to create a safe working environment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineer or any engineering discipline with Minimum 4 to 7 Years of experience in medium or heavy-duty manufacturing industries such as Metal fabrication, Machine shop, Forge shop.
  • Proficiency in time study methodologies, work measurement techniques, and process improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Experience of different manufacturing processes & its relative machinery, Tools & Tackles, Jigs & Fixtures and Inspection methods and gauges
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices
  • Responsible for creating and implementing new processes or procedures to increase efficiency and cost-benefit analyses for proposed changes
  • Establishing bench marking, improvised ergonomics, latest methodologies /tools/processes

Preferred

  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure efficiency improvements
  • Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Minitab, )
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyse complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

Location: Longmont, CO

Travel: 5 to 10%

Compensation Type: Competitive wages. Position also qualifies for benefits including medical insurance, dental insurance, disability, life insurance, 401(K), tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.
