SIGN ON BONUS OFFERED- $1000 ($500 payable at 3 months and $500 payable at 9 months)

The Independent Living Assistant provides services in the client’s home required and/or over the phone to assist in client’s ability to remain living independently. Independent Living Assistance is a contracted program through the Elderly Services Program. This position will perform duties as stated in the client service plan designed by the department manager and Elderly Services Care Manager. Client care includes but is not limited to managing the client’s personal and financial business and program applications. This position is primarily based in the community, doing client home visits, but will also have required office time which is located in Hamilton, Ohio.

Schedule

  • Day Shift: Monday through Friday -32 hours per week - Benefit Eligible
    • Schedule can be flexible after training
    • No evenings or weekends
Pay

  • $13/hour

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill assignments according to the client’s service plan such as:
  • Personal banking tasks
  • Mail Monitoring
  • Health insurance matters
  • Business and personal correspondence
  • Various community, state, and federal forms and applications (JFS, SELF, etc.)
  • Arrange and accompany client to medical appointments if needed. (Not using your vehicle, will ride in of the ESP transportation)
  • Participate in promoting and maintaining a safe and positive work environment.
  • Successfully complete orientation and training sessions.
  • Knowledge of geographic area served or ability to follow map/GPS devices.
  • Deliver Shared Harvest commodity food boxes to their assigned clients. Must be able to pick up 30+ pounds and carry short distances. (Must be able to carry upstairs)
  • Meet or exceed 65% productivity goals each month
  • Promote a positive image of Partner’s In Prime at work and within the community.
  • All other duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Licenses or other required certifications: Current and valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of personal auto insurance and the ability to maintain active auto insurance. Must have a good driving record which meets the standards set by the insuring agency.

Experience: Must be 18 years old and have a minimum of one year of related work experience. Experience with public and health/welfare benefits programs, and community service preferred,

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities

  • Must be able to understand the written service plans, execute instructions, document services delivered.
  • For banking services, must be able to successfully demonstrate balancing a checkbook and basic math skills by passing a competency test with a score of at least 70%.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills to be able to communicate with clients/families and access emergency service systems.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and arrange own schedule making sure each client’s needs are met.
  • Time management and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and researching programs.
  • Commitment to company values.
  • Second language ability will be helpful.
