Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join the Boston-based technical team supporting clients throughout the Greater Boston area. This is an on-site, hands-on engineering and support role focused on networking, wireless infrastructure, and security solutions in a managed services environment.

You'll work directly with local clients to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure across multi-vendor environments. The position offers a mix of project-based engineering and ongoing technical support, with no overnight travel required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot enterprise-grade network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and wireless systems.
• Implement, configure, and support network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and network access controls.
• Perform network assessments, health checks, upgrades, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex networking issues and provide escalation support when needed.
• Work directly with clients throughout the Greater Boston area, providing hands-on technical expertise and support.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams on network implementations and infrastructure improvements.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer, ideally in a customer-facing, managed services, or consulting environment.
• Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies (Catalyst, Nexus, Meraki, etc.) and familiarity with other major platforms such as Palo Alto, Aruba, or Fortinet.
• Solid understanding of Layer 2/3 networking, routing and switching, VLANs, VPNs, and protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
• Experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise wireless networks.
• Working knowledge of network security, firewall configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in client environments.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting directly with technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work on-site in the Greater Boston area.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working for a VAR, MSP, or Systems Integrator.
• Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent technical expertise are a plus, but not required.
• Experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking, or network automation.
• Exposure to multi-vendor networking and security environments.
